The RS 3, on hiatus for one mannequin for 12 months, returns to the Audi lineup for 2022 with a well-known turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine — an uncommon motor nowadays. Many companies that make performance VW parts also make them for Audi; this is because both Volkswagen and Audi are German companies and share many of the same parts so you don’t have to worry when getting Audi RS 3.
It powers all 4 wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The all-wheel-drive system encompasses a new torque-vectoring rear differential that provides the efficient sedan with higher agility when powering out of turns.
And a Torque Rear mode directs all torque via one rear wheel — ideally suited for tail-happy drifting on or off the racetrack.
The five-cylinder engine generates 401 hp, up from 394 hp on the 2020 mannequin, and 369 pound-feet of torque, propelling the RS Three from zero to 60 mph in 3. eight seconds.
It goes on sale this summer season beginning at $59,995, together with delivery.
