E-waste: Royal Mint desires to show your previous cellphone into gold

[ad_1]

Yearly we throw away hundreds of thousands of tons of digital waste – previous computer systems, cellphones, televisions.

All of them have circuit boards in them.

Now the Royal Mint has discovered a technique to flip them into gold, which they’re planning to make use of to make commemorative cash.

BBC Science Editor Rebecca Morelle has been to their manufacturing facility in Llantrisant, in South Wales to learn the way it’ll be executed.

Produced by Alison Francis.

Filmed and edited by Duncan Stone.
