Toronto Blue Jays first-base coach Mark Budzinski will probably be away from the group after the loss of life of his eldest daughter, Julia Budzinski, the group introduced Sunday.
“The Budzinskis have been a part of our Blue Jays household over the past 4 seasons. This devastating loss is felt by our complete group and we grieve alongside Bud and his household,” Ross Atkins, the Blue Jays’ government vice chairman of baseball operations and common supervisor, stated in an announcement. “I’ve recognized Bud for greater than 25 years and have at all times admired his dedication as a dad and husband first. He’s beloved and well-respected by our complete clubhouse and holds a particular place in all our hearts.”
The group stated Budzinski will probably be away from the group to be along with his spouse, Monica, and kids Josh and Lily. The Blue Jays didn’t launch Julia Budzinski’s age.
Mark Budzinski and supervisor Charlie Montoyo left within the third inning of the second recreation of the Blue Jays’ doubleheader Saturday in opposition to the Tampa Bay Rays. After the sport, the Blue Jays closed their clubhouse and stated that Montoyo and the group’s different coaches have been with Budzinski, who was “coping with a private matter.”
Budzinski performed 4 video games for the Cincinnati Reds in 2003 and retired in 2005. After managing in Cleveland‘s minor league system, he joined its massive league workers in 2017. Toronto employed Budzinski in November 2018.
