How to Change My Gmail Password

Requires two-factor authentication

Enabling two-factor authentication to change your Gmail password is a smart way to ensure your account stays safe. This feature applies across Google services and is known as “two-step verification.” It involves entering a code you know and something you own to verify your identity. This technology can improve your account security, but it requires you to sign in again after changing.

First, open the Security section of the Gmail website. There, you can see a list of security issues. You’ll have to wait a while if the authentication process is down. Typically, this error occurs when your login credentials were created using a username and not a valid email address.

If you’ve installed the Google App on your phone, you’ll need to configure it to accept two-factor authentication. This can be done in several ways.

It can be changed on mobile or desktop

There are several ways to change how your site displays on smaller devices. First, you should turn off your elements’ mobile and tablet options. Then, you can set the media query visibility to display the element only on smaller devices. This will prevent the desktop element from being displayed in a mobile view and vice versa.

Can be changed in Webmail

The default time zone in Webmail can cause problems with mail sorting. You can change this by selecting the Settings menu in the top right corner of the Webmail window. Then, go to the General section and click on the Edit Display name link. Type in the Name you want to show, and click Save. Your new display name will show up when you send emails from Webmail.

It can be changed from the Gmail app for Android

You’ve probably noticed that you can change the language of your Gmail account from your Android device’s home screen. The app is pre-installed on most Android devices, and you can download it free from the Google Play Store. Once you’ve installed the app, tap the Menu icon to bring up the side menu. On the left side of the menu, click Settings. From here, you can access your Gmail account preferences.

Before proceeding, you should back up your current email account. If you have multiple email accounts, you can delete one to make room for a new one. Then, you can select another account to make it your primary email account. Note: The names of the menu options on different Android devices may differ.

On the settings screen, you can also change the display name of your Gmail account. This will require you to be logged in. You can also do it using a mobile device from the Settings menu. First, open the Google app and slide to Personal info. Next, tap Name and choose the name you want to use for your Gmail account.
