How to Run Android Apps on Windows

You can now run Android apps on your PC thanks to a new update from Microsoft. The Windows Subsystem for Android, which is currently available for download through Amazon’s app store, is designed to help you use Android apps on your PC. It works by running Android apps on another window on your PC. This feature requires a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone.

Microsoft has released a preview version of its Windows Subsystem for Android

The Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is a set of components that enable Android apps to function as Windows apps. The new system will support Android 13 and include features such as File Transfer from Windows applications to Android, app shortcuts, and local network access by default. In addition, the Windows Subsystem for Android will support Picture-in-Picture. In addition to its new features, Windows Subsystem for Android offers basic features such as keyboard and mouse input, window management, and resizing. The system is still in its preview stage, but already supports new camera support, improved multi-threaded performance, and reliability.

To use the Windows Subsystem for Android, first turn on Developer Mode on your phone or tablet. You can find the Developer Settings in the Settings menu under Privacy > Security > For developers. Then, install the Android app using the Amazon Appstore. Next, run “ipconfig” to find the IP address of your test device.

It lets you run Android apps on your PC

If you want to run Android apps on your PC but don’t want to download and install an emulator, you can try the BlueStacks program. This San Jose, California-based program supports over 2 million apps for Android, and is free to download and install. The software only takes up about 2GB of your computer’s storage.

The Windows Subsystem for Android lets you run Android apps on your PC side by side with Windows apps. This preview version is only available for devices that run the most recent version of Windows 11 and are compatible with the Microsoft Store app. Microsoft has begun rolling out the feature in 31 additional markets.

Another great option is the MirrorTo application. This program provides lag-free experiences and allows you to use your phone’s keyboard and screen recording capabilities. While this app is compatible with Windows PCs, MacOS users will have to use a different app to run Android apps on their PC.

It’s downloadable through Amazon’s app store

If you have an eligible Windows 11 PC, you can download and run Android apps on the Windows platform using the Amazon Appstore. This app store supports more than 20,000 Android apps and games. Popular games include Coin Master, Epic Seven, Machington Mansion, and Disney Coloring World. It also supports the Kindle and Audible apps.

The Appstore is a user-friendly place to download apps for your computer. You can browse the library of available apps, search for a particular app, and then select it by clicking its thumbnail. Once you’ve selected an app, click “Get” or “Open” to install it.

Android apps are downloadable for free through the Amazon Appstore. Once downloaded, you’ll see them in your Start menu, without having to visit the Android market. They can also be pinned to the Taskbar and run in a resizable window. You can also uninstall them from the Windows Settings menu.
