St Peter’s Hospital provides over 65 volunteer positions to adults sixteen years or older from our community who strive to deliver top-quality health care with compassion. Volunteers assist at information desks, gift and thrift shops, patient aide stations, and friendly visitor duties throughout the hospital, as well as serving as greeters, patient aides, or friendly visitors – among many other responsibilities!

Saint Peter’s Girls High School is an all-girls Catholic high school located in West New Brighton on Staten Island in New York City and administered by the Christian Brothers from the Institute of Brothers of the Christian Schools, with affiliation to the Archdiocese of New York. Established in 1917 by Franciscan Fathers from India, they took over the operation of Saint Peter’s after World War I ended and opened it again as Saint Peter’s Girls High School under their administration in 1920 when it reopened after its previous closure during that war.
In 2008, the school was honored to be included on President Bush’s Higher Education Honor Roll for its dedication to civic engagement and community service. Recognized for its robust academic programs – comprising four courses offered through the Religious Studies Department, four English Department courses, two History courses, three Math/Science Department courses, as well as one Foreign Language Department class and two elective offerings – they boast several prestigious accolades as evidenced by this honor roll recognition.

Christian Brothers of St. John Baptist de La Salle is an order of religious men that manages this Staten Island school. It was founded on Richmond Terrace in the New Brighton area in 1917 and was initially run by them until they left in 1924 to serve in World War 1.
