Texas A&M soccer coach Jimbo Fisher defends Aggies’ recruiting, rips ‘full lies’

Jimbo Fisher doubled down on his protection of Texas A&M recruiting in an interview with a San Antonio TV station, saying simply one of many 11 early enrollees within the Aggies’ No. 1 recruiting class has an NIL deal.

Fisher fumed final week when Alabama coach Nick Saban spoke to an Alabama enterprise group saying, “A&M purchased each participant on their crew — made a deal for identify, picture, likeness. We did not purchase one participant, all proper?”

The Aggies coach responded by calling a news conference on Thursday morning and ripping Saban, saying “We by no means purchased anyone,” calling Saban “despicable” and saying “Some individuals assume they’re God.”

On Sunday night time, KSAT aired an interview with Fisher that it recorded on Friday when the coach visited the town to talk to an alumni membership.

“I simply researched this,” Fisher mentioned within the interview. “Of the 11 guys we’ve in place that got here early? One man has an NIL deal. So all these tales you are listening to are full lies.”

He reiterated that he had already been on the protection since signing day in February when he questioned social media posts that claimed the Aggies had a $30 million fund for NIL offers.

“It was written on social media,” Fisher mentioned to reporter Greg Simmons. “You bought information channels [that] believed it. And also you believed it.”

Fisher then started questioning Simmons.

“I am asking you,” Fisher mentioned. “Did you do your analysis? No, so that you simply assumed. And that is the way in which this world goes now. As quickly because it’s written on social media and somebody says it, you consider it. So the place does that put you guys as reporters?
