Jubilee Park in Jamshedpur is one of the best-known and well-maintained public parks, established as part of Tata Steel Ltd’s golden jubilee celebration in 1958. The park spans approximately 225 acres, boasting lush greenery and numerous attractions that draw inspiration from Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, thus earning it the nickname “Mughal Garden of Jamshedpur.” Aside from its beauty, this park also features multi-colored fountains that light up at night, making it particularly popular with runners and cyclists. Attractions here include a zoological park, lake, recreation center, and rose garden – a perfect place for families to spend quality time together in nature while enjoying each other. As winter comes around, the park lake becomes home to migrating birds – making it the ideal location for birdwatching. Also of note is Jayanti Sarovar in the center of the park, named for Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata’s wife. Furthermore, this park boasts amusement rides and children’s play equipment.
The park is open every day of the week from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm except Mondays and public holidays. However, individual attractions may have opening times and admission fees, so visitors should try to contact them before visiting. There are multiple means of reaching this park, including air travel (Birsa Munda Airport is closest) or rail travel – Jamshedpur Station being the nearest station for both options.
Tata Steel Zoological Park
Tata Steel Zoological Park in Jamshedpur offers nature enthusiasts and wildlife enthusiasts an incredible wildlife experience. Nestled inside Jubilee Park, this zoo boasts many animals and birds; visitors can also take a safari ride around wooded areas and spot animals in their natural environments. Common sightings at this zoo include jungle cats, jackals, Bengal mongooses, and garden lizards and pythons, amongst many other reptiles like garden lizards and pythons, amongst many others!
The Tata Steel Zoological Society, a charitable organization, manages the Zoo. A veterinary hospital is located within the facility dedicated to looking after these creatures.

In addition, an Art in Nature Camp allows visitors to paint or sculpt animals or natural elements creatively in an artistic fashion.
At the zoo, one of the most beloved activities is the Migratory Birds program, which gives tourists a glimpse of an array of migratory birds ranging from pelicans and cormorants to bee-eaters and magpies. Furthermore, the unique “Zoo Keeper for a Day” experience allows guests to interact close-up with some of their most sought-after animal residents.
The zoo is very well maintained, and the staff are accommodating. It makes an ideal spot for family outings with children of all ages; food can be pretty pricey, however, so I recommend you bring your snacks to save on costs. Furthermore, eating outside the zoo may lead to unhygienic conditions, causing animals to get sick due to unsanitary conditions. Jubilee Nicco Amusement Park
Jubilee Park in Jamshedpur recently welcomed another addition, Splash Zone water park. If you are planning a visit to this fantastic park, you must understand there is no entry fee and tickets for rides may range in price from Rs 20 to Rs 150 depending on which ride is chosen.
Upvan Park can best be reached by train or bus, with Tatanagar Junction offering direct connections from most major Indian cities. There are also various private and government buses running direct routes into the park; taxis or auto-rickshaws may also take visitors directly there. However, to ensure an enjoyable visit it is advised that tickets be booked well in advance as the park can become very crowded during holidays; alternatively, a full or half-day tour might be more suitable if traveling with a group.
