The US Commerce Division on Thursday moved to dam three Russian airways from receiving exported components from the US within the division’s first transfer to punish alleged violations of export controls since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The transfer — which applies to Russian flagship service Aeroflot, together with airways Azur Air and Utair — is an effort to chop off the airways from the worldwide financial system.
