WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White Home stated on Monday it was monitoring social media platform Twitter, now beneath the stewardship of recent Chief Govt Elon Musk, for misinformation.
“That is one thing that we’re actually keeping track of,” stated White Home spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre, when requested about Twitter turning into a vector for misinformation.
Jean-Pierre stated it was the duty of social media platforms to “ensure that in relation to misinformation, in relation to the hate that we’re seeing, that… they take motion, that they proceed to take motion.”
Musk, who has reinstated numerous Twitter accounts that had been beforehand suspended, stated on the weekend that new person signups had been at an “all-time excessive.” However there was a mass exodus of advertisers over considerations about verification and hate speech that Musk blames on activist teams exerting stress on corporations.
